I am the fussiest person ever except
when I go here, Dominic loves perfection so you will only get perfection. Yes from the previous unfavorable people, everyone makes mistakes even when you cook, however, Dominic or staff will make it right. For a holiday, you should know there is going to be a long wait. The problem here it's so good they just go back and back. Great food, staff.
thanks
Terrible Experience. It's Mothers Day 2011 - just returned from dining at Picano's for dinner. Service was awful - Our waitress forgot to take the order of one person in our party. We waited over an hour for our food, which was mediocre at best. During that time, our waitress did not come around to see if we needed or wanted anything, including beverage refills. Manicotti was crunchy, dried out dough, and burnt around the edges. Lasagna was forgettable. While our waitress did apologize for the wait, at the end of our meal, she was more than ready to take our money and clear the table for the next patrons. Never even offered anything as compensation for waiting such as a complimentary dessert, something to keep customers coming back. If ever a restaurant needs Gordon Ramsay's help, this one does. Needless to say we won't be back. The cost alone, which was close to $150 for all pasta dishes with no alcoholic drinks, for 6 people was ridiculous, given the quality of the food. A very disappointing meal.
Winning!!! Picano's "Chicken Roberto" is to die for! On November 10, 2011, I went into the restaurant to check out their lunch buffet, but instead I decided to try their Chicken Roberto. That was a good move. It is served with two big chicken fillets immersed in the a delicious Chicken Alfredo Sauce and smothered in mushrooms and broccoli. For roughly $10 and a tip, I had a great lunch. You can also buy the Alfredo Sauce to take home.
Not impressed, at all. My family made reservations for 9 for Easter Sunday, to avoid having to cook and clean-up. Picano's has not only the reputation for good food, but has been around for years so we figured they would do holiday's right. We ended up with only 8 people in our party and after a relatively short wait (20 minutes), we got seated at a table for 6. I was really surprised that a place like Picano's would stuff people into a room and completely ignore the comfort of their patrons. The hostess told us that they had alot of walk-in customers, though on Holiday's they highly recommend reservations. The woman on the phone when reservations where made said Easter Sunday was reservations only. Different story once we go there. Now, I am not one to say turn away a customer but if a party took the time to reserve a seat then they should be sat first and not have to compromise comfort. The holiday buffet was not cheap and when we went up for food, alot of the trays where empty. We had to wait, sometimes up to a half hour, for food to be brought out. Sorry...if people just walk in, then honor reservations first or turn people away. The food was okay, loved the sausage and peppers, but we won't be back. Service was average at best. During a holiday, I can understand a busy server but considering Picano's is suppose to be a class joint, we were far from impressed.
Great place. I love italian food and I have been going to Picanos for many years now. I take my kids, who are older now and they bring their kids now. 12 of us went their for my son's birthday and everything was perfect. Staff was very knowledgable. Our server's name was Farrah and he did a fantastic job. He knew a lot about the wine and he recomended the Veal morel, which was excellent. Always a GREAT place to go for any event.
Italian Jewel. If you are an Italian culinary purist (you annually helped your grandmother make 300 dozen raviolis for the Diocese), this place "smokes" its more well known neighbors in Troy & Auburn Hills at a fraction of the cost. You won't be rubbing shoulders with the rich & famous, but the locals know this is a top shelf restaurant. If you enjoy a great (mostly, unavailable in other famous Italian restaurants) value wine, try the Cesari Amorone with your meal.
Great Service.
This is a great place to eat. If your looking for authentic Italian food, this is your place. I recommend you stop in for lunch and ask for Lisa, she's my favorite waitress. Very prompt, polite and friendly.
Message brought to you by an extremely satisfied customer!
out of this world. This is the best authentic Italian dining in the Metro area. You can not beat the homemade cooking done by the Picano kitchen. The owner will ensure that your dining experience is the best.
Authentic Italian Cuisine.
Great food, great atmosphere, and downhome
homemade food. Fresh, homemade pasta and sauces, great prices too. You'll never go to a chain Italian restaurant again after trying Picano's.
The owner is allways there and chances are you'll meet him.
