I've lived in St Clair Shores for many
years. The Beach Grill is one of my favorite places to go. It has everything you would what in a place to go to 'get away' from the everyday. It has a price
friendly menu with the smaller plates menu when you just wanna bite to eat, to more lavish dishes. The Swordfish is my personal fav.
There has been times when i go there and it seems like organized chaos, no doubt. However, the place is HUGE by most standards and sometimes the lower management don't seem to have a grasp on what's really going on. However, this place, to me, is THE place to go for an awesome view, great food, drinks and dancing on the weekend.
I've read alot of negative reviews about this place... sometimes, we all have bad experiences at places we go. i think these are a few of the whole. I've had pretty bad to extraordinary service from the service staff. However, i recognize and have come to know the staff that has been there for years and years.
The Beach Grill's motto is "escape, relax, and enjoy", which is why i go there. It may be possible that i go there because of those words in my mind and other people expect it to be some thing more than it is.
If any place on the water that size, filled to capacity (for a reason), can have 100% satisfaction with no complains please let me know...

Great food! Great Atmosphere! Great value! Seriously, my favorite place to go. The menu is huge and everything I have tried I loved. My favorite dishes are the swordfish and the kobe beef burger. The prices are very fair. Service was great as well. Also went on a saturday night for dinner and then stuck around for the nightclub scene. This place is truly a treasure in St. Clair Shores!…
I enjoy eating here, have never had problems with the food or service. I have many favorites: the steak is tender and juicy, their lemon cake is to die for. Looking forward to frequenting them again this summer!…
This place has the WORST SERVICE I have ever came across.. PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU GO THERE! My girlfriend and her friend celebrated their 21st and 22nd birthday party here and had a reservation for 30. We made a reservation 2 WEEKS before hand. The DAY BEFORE THE PARTY they called to tell us that they were running out of food so they wouldn't have everything on their menu so because of the super short notice, we really weren't able choose another place instead which was their plan along. They know if they would have told us ahead of time then we would have picked some place else. They also said if we didn't have 75% of our guests there at 7 o'clock then were would cancel our reservation. After we ate their CRAPPY food, one of the our friends brought a coupon for 10% off our food bill. We paid the bill and noticed that our waitress didn't apply the coupon so when we spoke to her she said that she already put the money in and there was no way she could take it out when it was HER FAULT in the 1st place for not applying the discount. We were mad about everything that happened thus far, but we didn't complain since we were still looking forward to their bar/club to celebrate the 2 birthdays at least, but oh wait after we paid our bill the owner comes to tell us that he decided LAST MINUTE that he wasn't going to open up the bar/club that night when we had been expecting 30+ more people to come to the club on top of the 30 people that were already there. Once again, he could have told us ahead of time about all this information so we could have choose somewhere else, but nope he wanted to be a conniving ass and just wanted us for our business. He basically ruined 2 girls birthday parties that they will never get to have back. Thank god we finished dinner at 10 and we decided just to go celebrate in Downtown Royal Oak instead. We had more fun there then we would have probably had at Beach Grill and I'm glad we didn't give any more of our business to them. So if you are looking for a place to eat small portioned, crappy, overpriced food with the worst service you can ever imagine and a deceptive, rude, and just flat our disrespectful owner then be my guest and eat there. I can't wait for this dump of a place to run out of business for their horrible service. I have NEVER felt so disrespected and cheated in my life. If you are the owner I really hope you are reading this so you can realize what a horrible person you really are.…
