SO apparently you CANNOT BE BLACK going
to 5th Avenue Billiards in Royal Oak bc you will get turned away wearing the same thing as the rest of the "crowd" bc the color of your skin! We had 20 ppl & the bouncer "decides" we dont "fit the description".... REALLY??!! Thats fine! We will blow money somewhere else!

I heard Terry Foster talking about this place on the radio but always knew this bar as a club, not a sports bar - it's been around for a long time. I decided to check it out and it looks like they have new owners who are gearing it more toward sports fans as well. Great move because it is built for it. Food was really good, service was outstanding, and the servers were VERY easy on the eyes! Bonus that's it's right downtown in Royal Oak. I will be watching a lot of Tigers games here this summer.

One of the worse bars I have ever been in.Bouncers were on a power trip, They threw me out-I was not drinking because I was the DD. And I'm not some young 25-35 year old. Just because I knew the person they were kicking out. I watched while they took him down on the cement twice and he was just standing there, saying this is uncalled for. Their drinks are expensive in small glasses. The bathroom was filthy. One of the worse I've ever seen. Poorly run. Bad management. If you wanted to leave to feed the meter, they made you wait back in line which was a 1/2 hr to 45 min wait. Bunch of jerks, Staff was bad/
Fun!. My friends and I decided to check out this bar. I was a bit reluctant because I wasn't in the best of moods. When we arrived we were greeted by an EXTREMELY friend staff. Not to mention, the drinks are awesome. So, I truly recommend this place.

In response to Hello77.....well, looks like you didn't do a good enough job planning your sister's "surprise" party. First of all, how are they suppose to know who your sister is, and secondly, nothing in this world is free.....cover is ONLY $5, c'mon! If you can't pay $5, then you shouldn't go out!
As for Fifth Avenue, we have been going there for years and have had nothing but wonderful service and great times. The clienteles' ages range from mid-twenties to thirties, the staff is very outgoing and friendly and the live bands and DJs make for a perfect night!
I highly recommend this bar to everyone. If you want to have a great time, Fifth Avenue is the place to go!!!!
Never have an event at this bar. I recently had planned a surprise B-Day party for my sister. I was exctied that 5th ave was going to reserve tables and comp cover charge for a group of 50-60 people. After informing everyone of the location and details about not having to pay cover it turned out that 5th Ave charged everyone who came to the party. The Bouncer Rachel ruined the surprise making the B-day girl pay cover and telling her about her surprise party. I will NEVER NEVER plan an event at this bar again. They also did not have enough bar staff and everyone was waiting for drinks all night. I was very disappointed and would advise you never to plan an event with this business!!!!!

The Scene
Those who dress to be noticed will be surrounded by many of the same ilk at this upscale pool parlor. In front of the dance floor, a stage provides a venue to show off. The first floor is the best place to play some pool. As the night goes on the area overflows with people. Live entertainment is a staple here, with blues music dominating the schedule. Otherwise, electronica, dance hall and house trade DJ nights.
RECOMMENDED!!!. Fifth Avenue Billiards always brings back good memories whenever I went there and I still do. I love the "Sugar Hiccup" show every Wednesday nights. I highly recommend this place for everyone.
