Best food in town. This is the best their food has ever been. Chef Myles has made the best menu in town! The Filet Mignon and Chilean Sea Bass are worth coming back for....over and over!
An Excellent Dining Experience. On a Holiday Shopping expedition to Troy and Royal Oak, we happened upon D?Amato?s Restaurant which was open for Sunday Brunch. With two kids in tow, we were looking for a less holiday hectic place to relax and eat. D?Amato?s was like an early Christmas gift. Your waiter was excellent ? very polite, personable, and patient. The Brunch food items were varied, delicious, reasonably priced, and there was no crowding or pressure to eat and leave. It was so relaxing and comfortable and there was even a four piece jazz group. We will be coming back to D?Amato?s on our next visit from Windsor ? maybe without the kids! Thanks, Rod and Jodi
Awesome service and tasty food!. Went to D'Amato's last week for dinner and had a great experience. The service was excellent! Had a waiter named Brad. He was very attentive but not too overbearing. Seemed to know the menu very well. I had the salmon with a pepper style sauce. Seemed to be cooked about right and the sauce was delicious. My friend had a pasta with chicken and spinach, I'm not sure the name of the dish. It was also very tasty as it had some kind of cream sauce. We had a few drinks after dinner at the attached martini bar. It's nice to be able to have dinner and then chill out without having to even leave the restaurant. I don't know if the place next door is owned by the same people but the martini's were awesome!
Not good. This place has gone down hill very disapointing, warm beer and wine. Tough chicken and fatty beef.. Very sad... I remember loving this place at one point. Not sure what happend. hopefully they can recover...
Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors. Trendy Italian bistro delivers a fresh daily menu including veal scaloppini, cherrywood-smoked salmon, and cannolli topped with toasted almonds.
Great little spot. Really good food, good location, good parking and good crowd! I would recommend for dinner or just for a cocktail.
Yummy!!!. Wow! D'amato's has a new chef. I had the chance to meet him, and he's from Tribute Restaurant. You must try his food.
NOT ITALIAN ANY MORE. D'amato's has been one of my favorite restaurants for years. This last year, D'amato's has had the best food ever. You can order pork, veal, vegitarian, fish and all sorts of other cool things. If you like boring chicken and pasta, you can get that too. This place has such cool items on the menu that you have no right to do that though. Some of my friends are confused, because they think that this is an Italian restaurant. The truth is that it used to be years ago. I don't know, but it hasn't been for three, four or even more years. This is a restaurant that has European, American and Asian. It is just so cool. There is lots off booze too.
Pleasantly Surprised ~ Good Overall.
Recently, some friends of mine arranged to meet at D'Amato's, a Royal Oak restaurant I had never heard of. I read the Citysearch user reviews and expected a mediocre experience. Yet I was pleasantly surprised.
The food was fantastic! I had braised pork and sea scallops. The sea scallops were fresh, pork done to perfection, & the sauces delicate and flavorful. Plus the ambiance was hip and the service attentive (although they need new tables. The existing ones are a bit ragged).
Overall, I liked D'Amato's and will probably be back soon.
Always Changing Always Great!. D'amato's is a real treat. It is a restaurant that started out as an Italian neighborhood restaurant in the 90's. Changes in the staff, ownership, management and chefs made the restaurant evolve each year. This is not an Italian restaurant any more, and it hasn't been in a few years. D'amato's serves various styles of food from throughout the world. With the menu changing everyday, you never know what kind of food that you'll get. You can expect excellence though. This is the best that D'amato's has ever been too. I have been eating at D'amato's since it opened, and some of the friendly waitstaff are still from when the place opened. The huge wine and martini selection helps to make the restaurant and bars (they have two) very romantic. The cigars and long scotch list at Goodnite Gracies (their second bar) make the place hip.
