Horrible staff, Rude Bouncers. I had the same situation as the person before me, went there with a big group of around 20, end of the night kept getting pushed by security guards, with my hands in my pockets trying to talk to the rude, short stocky bouncer, he pushed me then proceded to grab me by then neck and throw me out. I was blown away this happend to us, now seeing that it has happend to other people just goes to show what kind of establishment they are, and dont deserve a sigle customer, we had a great time there untill that all happend, but i will never go back and would not suggest it to anyone!…
Horrible Experience.
I actually wouldn't even give this 1 star if that was an option.
My sister and I took a party bus of 30 people to Mr B's to celebrate our birthdays last night. We had been there for almost 2 hours when all of a sudden the "security" staff came walking through telling us we were "in the way" and kept pushing us back with their flashlights. They threatened to kick out a couple of our friends a few times because we were blocking the aisle when in reality we had never moved and it was actually the security guys getting in the way. They ended up kicking out one of our friends and when I went up to the midget security guy (who obviously should lay off the roids) to explain that my friend had been standing there the whole time and was not in the way, he grabbed me and told me I was now being kicked out. I explained to him I was with a large group and needed to tell them I was leaving when he grabbed my hand and pushed me to the door. He told me that there was a line waiting to get in and that my group of 30 was welcome to leave. Apparently our business there wasn't good enough.
My brother came over and told Mr. Large Ego Security Guy to get his hands off of me and the next thing you know there are 3 security guards wrestling my brother to the door in a headlock. One larger security guy actually took my brother outside and was choking him while I was trying to deter the situation. While this was happening the so-called manager was yelling at all of my friends and had others escorted out in an unnecessary manner. This all would have been avoided if the original dwarf bouncer would've let me tell my friends I was leaving and had kept his hands off of me.
From my judgement on the other reviews it looks like Mr B's needs to reassess the security and management staff that they have chosen to represent their business. My friends and myself will NEVER return to this establishment.…
Metro Detroit's Worst Dance Party.
I've been to Mr. B's a few times, but was really put off with my last visit. As soon as I arrived, I was greeted by a scowling waitress. This girl was terrible- openly rolling her eyes at a drink
order, and throwing orders into the middle of the table with no acknowledgment. Unimpressive.
Later into the night, a DJ was brought in, to play the absolute worst dance music in the world (e.g. Ice Ice Baby). Insane disco lights were turned on, tables moved, and the old person dance party commenced. Have you ever heard the Cha Cha Slide played outside of weddings? No? With good reason.
To top it all off, security and management are horrible. We ended up leaving with a 20% off coupon after our terrible experience, but it's just not worth the pain and heartache that is a night out at Mr. B's.…
The People That 1 Starred This Are Nerds!. This is a great bar. The menu is much improved. The pizza is fantastic; the appetizer sampler is a great starter. The waitstaff is always very courteous and actually very fun. Drinks are reasonably priced; although they could stand to improve the happy hour specials, ie, BlackFinn. The people that 1 starred this probably got beat up in high school, and if I saw them at Mr. B's, I would steal their lunch money. All around, a great bar and a Royal Oak staple!…
Why bother....
The days when this was the place to be in Royal Oak are long gone. They have knocked down one too many walls and have lost all the appeal that the original place had-like a friendly place to hang
out.
Stopped in there before a comedy show at Ridley's...overpriced drinks, pompous attitude (doorman? give me a break), and the food is about 20% overpriced as well. While they have the pool tables and TV's and all there's something missing-an identity. There's nothing there that makes you want to come back, just location and with so many other choices even that isn't enough.
Entertainment coupon may make it worth the stop but drink water and get out quick. Shame.…
