Visitors take a trip back in time aboard a restored antique train..
In Short
At the Michigan Transit Museum, visitors can wander through the completely restored 1859 train depot that once served
Macomb County and the Chicago, Detroit & Canada Grand Trunk Junction Railway. Even more exciting to children is the opportunity to ride a train. The museum offers a four 45-minute rides every Sunday afternoon on a renovated train--often using a 1924 El car built in 1924 for the elevated (El) commuter railroad system in Chicago.
