Stay away from Danielle!!. First let me just say that the people who come to this place are either: (a) Filthy rich- have a lot of $$ to burn so it doesn't bother them whether they're really getting the job done OR..... (b) Are brainwashed into thinking that their eyebrows/makeup/etc look the best they've ever been.

I have been here 3 times for makeup and the first two times, jeanie & todd did my makeup and the 3rd time, this DISGUSTING italian girl named Danielle did it.

My makeup was so bad that people asked me at my bestfriend's wedding (I was her maid of honor) why I didn't get my makeup professionally done! i wanted to cry.

On top of that, she charged me $80- more than what the other 2 artists & others charge.

This place is really going downhill & i wouldn't be surprised if they closed soon. They seem to hire anyone out of the blue (as evidenced by danielle) & don't give a *hit about customer service.

Check out other places in Birmingham first!!. First of all, let me just say that this place isn't all it's cracked up to be. The receptionists need to take a crash course in customer service. I had my makeup done with Danielle & I will say this is the WORSTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT makeup experience of my entire life.

I don't know where to begin or what my limit to words is here.

(1) She asked me the stupidest questions before she even began. Questions like what colors do you want on your eyelid, what colors do you want on your crease, do you want them light or dark, etc. I mean hello??? You're the 'professional' makeup artist- you tell me!!

(2) I'd say she spent about 15 minutes, definitely no longer than 20 on the entire makeup application.

(3) Basically all she did was slap on some powder and then some blush. It was nothing I don't already do at home.

This girl is a JOKE. She charges $80 (more than Jeanie & Todd) for NOTHING. And she'll also charge you about $12 for eyelashes & if she has to trim your eyebrows where Todd & Jeanie don't.

Not to mention, she has a serious attitude problem & makes weird facial expressions.

I would ONLY recommend Todd OR Jeanie. Do not (and I repeat Do NOT) go to anyone else. You will be wasting your money & time.

There are TONS of places in Birmingham that do makeup so I encourage you to check them out first.

Go see Beth!. Beth Forrester is the Michaelangelo of the arch. Her work is truly exceptional & to top it off she has a great attitude & fantastic sense of humor.

Ask for seasoned artist for eyebrow shaping!. I've been a long time client of Todd's Room, but have noticed many of their seasoned artist have left in the last couple years and see a lot of new faces. That's not usually a good sign for a business. I've been to several *experienced* artists who have done a great job, but several of them are gone now. The front desk and retail area are very unorganized to say the least. There is often no one available to help you with retail items, and if the front desks is backed up it takes a long time to be cashed out. In between ringing up clients the receptionists are also answering phones and booking appointments which can seem an eternity when you are in a hurry. Curiously, I was on the State of Michigan web site and was checking out a hair salon to check a license. Its really fast and easy to find out if an individual or business is licensed. (under DLEG section) Every salon/spa I've been to in the past is licensed, but when I put in Todd's Room it said "no licenses were found." I checked many other salons just to see if their license pulled up and all of them are licensed. Other than the obvious cons, Todd's Room is known for their makeup and eyebrow shaping skills. Just be sure who you're going to!

Good eyebrow shaping. Todd's room definitely excels in eyebrow shaping; they use tweezers and scissors instead of the standard wax and take the time to make you look great. My eyebrows look better than ever when I go there. However, I've had the woman who does mine be late 3 out of the last 4 times I went there, with no apology for keeping me waiting. The selection of high end cosmetics and perfume is excellent, and the sales help on the floor is friendly, but for some reason the girls who work at the front desk act rude and stuck up. So, go to get your eyebrows done or buy some nice products, but be prepared to pay a pretty penny and occasionally be treated rudely.
