Its good for concerts – Its great for all the techno concert. Dont order a tripple vodka redbull because it was like $14 or 18 for one drink!!!!!!!!! Pretty cool environment though. I dig the room with the couches that's a little more private.
FUn time – Always great music, never too smoky, and always a great time
Best time :) – Being that I just turned 18, & this being my first & only club... I loved Clutch Cargos. I loved the hookah bar & we got a discount on the hookah because we looked hot. Great music, I didn't wanna leave because i kept hearing so many great songs. The crowd there was a little rude, but that's to be expected from drunk guys. I had an awesome time & go every Saturday. Drinks were not expensive at all, two dollar slushies. If you wanna get a feel good of some sort & feel good, just do the hookah & don't spend so much money on the drinks... All together-I had an awesome time.
Clubbing Nightmare – Clutch Cargo's is a terrible night club, the drinks are way too exspensive and even though it is a huge venue it is completely packed with people who arent worth your time. Lots of rude foreigns who arent afraid to touch you or say completely rude things to you. Music is good but that is pretty much it, When you leave you smell like smoke and beer. I was burned there due to someone just throwing around there cigarette. I will never go back.
A great time – I plan on going to clutch for my birthday. On the 22 of march.I have about 25-30 people going.I have had a blast everytime i went.I live in jackson.I only wish it was'nt that far.I think they do a excellent job with security.I feel safe.It is alot of fun.Yea it gets messy but thats what happens when you have a bunch of people partying.I would recommed that place any day.
Worst Bartenders Ever – If you are planning on not getting any drinks, inhaling a lot of second hand smoke, listening to bad music, looking at unattractive people, and getting thrown out of the club for no reason, Clutch is the place for you.
The staff here is the rudest I have ever come across in all my years of clubbing experience. The bartender told someone I was with to f*** off because he could not tip her towards the end of the night, and then my friend proceeded to get thrown out because of it. Also the drinks are way overpriced and the bartenders will lie to you about the prices. The prices somehow magically changed from one bartender to the other.
Stay away from Clutch if you dont want to get ripped off, cursed out, and then thrown out on top of it.
Smoky, greasy, and gross – The only perk to Clutch Cargo most of the time is that you get in free if you show up before 11. Sometimes they'll have a decent DJ, other times they will not. What is nice is that Clutch is split into pieces so you can see what else is going on if the dance floor fails to impress.
Basically, walking into Clutch you feel dirty. You and everything you wear will instantly reek of smoke. There is a whole barrage of foreign men trying to grope you (and they often succeed whether you want them to or not). These guys are truly gross; they'll kiss you, spank you, and lick you without your permission, probably because you wouldn't give them any.
The girls are usually the same crowd each week, making Clutch a subculture of the foreign and the attention starved.
Stay away from Clutch if you're looking for a sophisticated time or don't want to smell of smoke; if you really have nothing better to do on a Saturday night, Clutch might be for you.
I used to work there as a shot girl and I had the best time ever. Its an always changing atmoshpere – All I want to say is clint I've been thinking about you. Take this as you want, but I think I need to talk if you want to..... Rachel
Praise the music at this popular Pontiac church-turned-nightclub. – In Short
Clutch Cargo's has showcased national major label bands like Third Eye Blind, Less Than Jake, Guster and Detroit's own White Stripes. This huge place can pack in more than 1,200 people. On concert nights, expect to find a jam-packed crowd of mostly twenty-somethings steaming up the cathedral windows and rocking up a storm. The dance floor rules on non-concert nights with DJs spinning everything from pop and house to hip hop and techno.
User review by jilly1283 – I used to go to Clutch Cargo's all the time with my friends' I have not been there in over a year and a half. When I used to go I loved it! Always had a great time. Danced to the music non stop all night long. It did get a little crowded on the main floor and hard to move around. Other than that I would reccommend it to anyone who is just barely 18 or the clubbing age. Now that I am older I would not go again. Kind of for the younger crowd.
